The Glitter Project was created as a legacy for Jo Fletcher-Cross, a beloved Funny Women board member and champion of comedy talent, who sadly lost her life to cancer earlier this year. Together with Jo, Funny Women developed a safe, supportive and joyful initiative where women and non-binary creatives can find their voice.
Premiering at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Glitter Project has become a vital creative incubator for grassroots comedy, offering workshops, open mics, mentoring sessions and a welcoming creative community where confidence and ideas can grow.
In Jo’s words:
“All I have ever wanted to do is find joy, laughter and a bit of sparkle along the way in life. I’m thrilled The Glitter Project will help fabulous funny women keep the laughter going for many years to come.”
