The judging is over. The spreadsheet is saved. The scores are set.
10 finalists will compete in-person at the Stage Award final, hosted by Jo Brand with a headline set from Lorna Rose Treen (Winner 2022), on Thursday 28th September at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London. TICKETS HERE.
In our search for the 10 acts to go through to final of the 2023 Funny Women Stage Award, our team and a select panel of industry judges scored over 400 submission videos from over 12 timezones in multiple stages; two preliminary rounds, 12 heats rounds and four semi-finals, we are exhausted!
We have been so impressed with this year’s entrants. Once again, we opened the competition to our global friends and have discovered some great new talents along the way. The standard was very high and the willingness shown to embrace YouTube gigs has been truly heartening, in what has been one of our toughest of years as a company.
Without further ado, we are delighted to announce that the 2023 Funny Women Stage Award finalists supported by Next Up Comedy are:
Blank Peng |
Charlie Vero-Martin |
Hannah Platt |
Kate Cheka |
Nikola McMurtrie |
Rachel Baker |
Sasha LO |
Su Mi |
Tal Davies |
Victoria Olsina |
Congratulations to you all!
There needs to be a special mention for our One’s to watch 2023, who were all fantastic but narrowly missed out on the final.
