As this is our Manchester ‘finale’ for this phase of The Glitter Project, we have curated a very special INDUSTRY PANEL with experts covering competitions, gong shows and how to gain confidence.
The panel will be hosted by regional producer Aimee Perry, with guests including Anna Thomas (Winner BBC New Comedian Award 2021, Nominated for Sean Lock Award 2023), Hannah Platt (2nd Place Funny Women Award 2023, Finalist BBC New Comedian Award 2019, Nominated for the following at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe – Next Up’s Biggest Award, Best Newcomer ISH Award, Best Newcomer Comedians Choice Award) and Sharifa Butterfly (Finalist 2024 Beat The Frog World Series, Winner King Gong Comedy Store 2023, Winner Vauxhall Ding Dong Gong 2022, Top Secret Gong Winner 2022).
Our Mentoring Meetups and Open Mic events are a part of The Glitter Project – A Safe Place supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Join us for some informal networking, fun and games, plus first-hand advice from visiting experts who’ve all ‘been there, done that’ in some capacity. We all know how challenging it can be to embark on a new interest and potential career so these events are designed to take out the overwhelm and connect you with other likeminded female and non-binary comedy performers, writers and creators.
This takes place at the Frog & Bucket, Manchester’s leading live comedy venue, under the direction of regional producer Aimee Perry.
