THE GLITTER PROJECT – MENTORING MEETUP BRIGHTON

Date & Time:

February 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cost:

Free

Our Mentoring Meetups and Open Mic events are part of The Glitter Project – A Safe Place supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Join us for some informal networking, fun and games, plus first-hand advice from visiting experts who’ve all ‘been there, done that’ in some capacity. We all know how challenging it can be to embark on a new interest and potential career so these events are designed to take out the overwhelm and connect you with other likeminded female and non-binary comedy performers, writers and creators.

Our special guest for this event is stand-up, presenter, and scuba diver Zoe Lyons. Zoe took her first steps down the comedy path in 2003 after training as an actress at the Poor School in London. She went on to win the Funny Women Competition in 2004 and her debut Edinburgh show was nominated for the if.comedy newcomer award. This session will focus on writing new material – Zoe is an absolute genius for finding the funny!

This takes place in partnership with Komedia, home of Funny Women’s longest running pro-gig in the UK, under the direction of regional producer Kate McGann.

To book a spot at our Glitter Project Open Mic in Brighton please email brighton@funnywomen.com and put GLITTER PROJECT OPEN MIC in the header.
