KEEP UP TO DATE
September 28 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm BST
Join us for a live Comedy Workout, at our brand new venue in Rochester – this is part of a varied community programme designed to bring us back together again IRL, whether it’s to warm up our creative brains, flex our chuckle muscles, or stretch out our funny bones.
Over the next few months, our focus will be on rebuilding your confidence to perform or write comedy and how to interact beyond the confines of your computer screen.
This month, our guest facilitator will be Kate Mechedou, who’s the Director of Mrs Baker’s Medway Theatre Company Ltd.
Following her training at East 15 Acting School, Kate specialised in creating and delivering site specific performances in heritage sites across the world. Engaging with passing heritage visitors, not necessarily expecting to see a performance, allowed Kate to hone her specific practice, turning visitors into audience and audience into participants. It is these skills and techniques Kate will be sharing with us.
Meet like-minded women with a passion for comedy, learn how to generate material through improvised comedy, sharing scripts, sets, jokes and ideas from comedians, writers and creators and receive comedy advice from the Funny Women Team. There will be a bit of relaxed performance time too.
We know that comedy can be scary, so this event provides a platform for you to get match fit ready to get back on stage or to perform comedy for the first time. Even if you’re already a regular on the circuit, the Comedy Workout will provide you with an opportunity to try out new material in the company of your peers.
Tickets are PWYW with a minimum £1 donation.
We are a not for profit community providing a centre of excellence for comedy skills and training.
