Are you a female creative who wants to explore your funny bones?
Do you think Fleabag has changed the narrative for women?
Do you lack the confidence to express or develop your creative ideas?
Are you aware that the top rated advertisements use humour?
Did you know that less than 3% of ads depict women in leadership roles, being intelligent or having a sense of humour?
Are you a budding comedy performer or writer who would like to collaborate with creatives?
We’re part of much bigger seed change in the world of creativity and advertising so delighted to be presenting another of our brilliant HERlarious events with our unique blend of workshops, panel discussion and, of course, a showcase of live stand up comedy.
Our Comedy and Confidence for Creatives event is open to anybody working in the creative and communications industries who would like to express their ideas more confidently and freely using some of the tricks of the comedy trade. The interaction with brilliant funny women from across our community is the focus of this event.
If you are a first-jobber, intern, returner to the workplace or simply in need of a change of direction then a comedy fix is guaranteed to boost your confidence, whatever your level!
We can promise you a fun interactive evening mixing with comedy professionals where you can get valuable advice on how to ‘perform’, write great copy, bring your ideas to life and develop techniques to communicate more effectively. We will cover creating your own material, interpreting body language, storytelling and developing a strong narrative.
On the night you will be able to take part in two workshops to boost your skills and confidence levels. Choose from:
Stand Up to Stand Out
Improvise to Succeed
Write Your Own Comedy Script
Produce, Direct and Cast Funny People
Every workshop will be facilitated by a team of performers, writers, film-makers, producers and directors with first-hand experience of the comedy industry.
A lively panel discussion follows where we’ll unpack the legacy of Fleabag and look at how groundbreaking television comedy drama is changing the perceptions and image of women in the media.
And, on the eve of our first round of live heats in the 2019 Funny Women Awards, we’ll showcase some of the amazing female talent on the comedy circuit!
