SUMMARY:GLITTER CHALLENGE 2026 - LONDON SHOWCASE
DESCRIPTION:RESCHEDULED – NEW DATE: 2ND FEBRUARY 2027\nOver the summer a group of amazing women took on a very special Comedy Challenge to raise vital funds for The Glitter Project and performed five-minutes of stand up comedy at Edinburgh Fringe\, the world’s largest arts festival.  \nRead more about their experience here.  \nJoin us for a very special showcase as the Funny Women Glitter Challenge transfers to the Comedy Store London for one night only.   \nRelive our Challengers’ Fringe debut hosted by Ivy Paige. \n \nFeaturing our Glitter Challengers: Danni Woods\, Betty Cherry\, Cayley Rae\, Carla Harris-Marsh\, Donna Gray\, Jane Renton and Agathe Thorseth. \nAll profits after costs will go towards funding the next stage of The Glitter Project.  \nOUR INSPIRATION  \nJo Fletcher-Cross\, one of Funny Women’s non-executive directors and a comedian\, was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour in summer 2022 on the eve of her first full run at the Edinburgh Fringe. She passed away earlier this year. Together with Funny Women\, Jo created an enduring legacy with The Glitter Project to encourage those who’ve already established a glittering comedy career to spread ‘a bit of glitter’. \nTHE GLITTER PROJECT – A SAFE PLACE  \nFunny Women launched The Glitter Project – A Safe Place in 2024 to provide safe\, inclusive and accessible places for women to explore their creativity\, develop self-confidence and be inspired through comedy. Now that initial funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and the BBC Comedy Fund has run out\, funds raised from this event will go towards maintaining the initiative. \nIf you would like to take part in the 2027 Glitter Challenge\, please email info@funnywomen.com with ‘I’m up for the Challenge’ in the header.

As a woman who has fought her way through business for many years now\, determined in my mission to be ‘me’ – I really enjoyed Lynne’s approach. Being yourself\, being ready to tell stories\, laugh\, amuse yourselves and each other – surely that’s all part of life?’ \n‘Too often we are restricted by the expectations of others\, especially as a woman in business. This session was expertly led by Lynne\, who made everyone feel welcome\, but also emboldened. Within no time\, absolute strangers were giggling hysterically and cheering each other on.’ \n‘I recently attended the Stand Up to Stand Out Workshop at the Groucho Club. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone but I felt supported by Lynne in this. I will be able to use what I learnt about the power of humour and my increased confidence in storytelling to deliver more compelling client presentations and\, who knows\, maybe even try stand up!’ \n‘Lynne is the most knowledgeable person I have met during my comedy career and I would recommend her to anyone/if not everyone; whether you’re starting out in comedy or you would like to be better at public speaking/improving your confidence – Lynne is the person to work with – she is hilarious\, empowering and incredibly kind.’ \n‘I had a wonderful time on the Stand Up to Stand Out workshop. Lynne coached us with skill and humanity\, creating a community from a group of strangers. And we were all really funny! To any woman thinking of going on the course\, I’d say it’s one of the best investments you can make in yourself.’
