SUMMARY:The Glitter Project at Brighton Fringe
DESCRIPTION:Returning to Brighton for a bumper festival edition of The Glitter Project\, this event features an INDUSTRY PANEL with experts covering comedy production\, performance\, media\, mental health and wellbeing. This will be followed by a facilitated SPEED MENTORING session as part of the event programme. Early booking is recommended!  \nThe panel will be hosted by Funny Women founder\, Lynne Parker\, as part of The Glitter Project – A Safe Place supported by funds raised from The Glitter Challenge. This takes place in partnership with Komedia\, home of Funny Women’s longest running pro-gig in the UK. \n  \n          Lynne Parker             Sarah ‘Scoop’ Cooper             Zoe Paskett                Nat May             Louisa Jackson       \nSarah ‘Scoop’ Cooper\, founder of Pitchycoo\, works with creative businesses to get their work into new rooms and in front of the right people. She brings a commercial lens to creative work\, sharing practical tools\, simple systems and fresh thinking to open up new opportunities and help people move their ideas forward. \n\nZoe Paskett is an arts journalist\, specialising in comedy. She formerly covered comedy for the Evening Standard and wrote for Funny Women\, and now runs LMAOnaise Comedy\, a publication focused on recommending and uplifting the best new comedy in the UK. \nLu Jackson is the tech superwoman and founder of Craic™\, the leading technology hub and marketplace for the comedy industry and fans; and Craic Health\, pioneering comedy-on-prescription\, and connecting people via community-based comedy events and activities. Lu is also the founder of CRAFT (Comedy Representation & Artform Trust)\, the UK’s first dedicated national body to support the entire comedy industry ecosystem. \n\nNat May is a Brighton-based social media and marketing manager\, with a background in film\, TV and media. She began her career in commissioning at Channel 4\, gaining insight into audience engagement and content strategy\, before launching her own social media and marketing business eight years ago. \n\nMore panellists and mentors to be announced! \n\nFunny Women has been supporting and developing new comedy talent at grassroots with ground-breaking Awards\, workshops\, courses and open mic events for over 20 years. The priority is to build confidence in female and non-binary performers\, writers and creators to give them the opportunity to pursue comedy careers. \nThe inspiration for The Glitter Project is Jo Fletcher-Cross\, who was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour in summer 2022 on the eve of her her Edinburgh debut. Hundreds of women have gained the confidence to perform on stage and in the boardroom. DESCRIPTION:We’re committed to building the next generation of comedic talent and our brilliant Comedy Crash Course is an accessible and inclusive fast-track towards performing\, writing and creating comedy.  \n\n\n\nFeaturing an hour a day of expert coaching and guidance from brilliant industry experts and an opportunity to perform in an online showcase at the end of the week. \n\n\n\nLynne Parker Founder & CEO\, Funny Women CIC\, TEDX Speaker\, Writer & Facilitator\, Comedy Coach and podcast host. Lynne will kickstart the week with a workshop that connects you\, builds your confidence and gets your creativity flowing. \nMariana Feijó is a queer\, Portuguese multidisciplinary artist\, comedian\, writer\, photographer\, content producer and podcaster\, with international practice\, based in London. Her practice started from a necessity to learn how to communicate and create community. She believes in pushing the boundaries of conventional comedic performance through collaboration and the combining of different art forms\, confident that true original work can’t be developed within set frames. \nAJ Stubberfield is an acclaimed creative with over 15 years of experience as a writer\, performer and stand-up comic who just happens to be transmasculine\, working class and queer! Their work delves into experiences of life\, love\, identity\, and mental health with creativity\, playfulness\, and humour on stage and screen. After embarking on a journey to discover and express their authentic voice in the creative industry\, they are passionate about empowering others to do the same\, guiding aspiring creatives in their careers\, sharing industry insights\, and fostering their growth through mentorship. \nSiân Rowland is a playwright whose latest play The Cracks was runner up for the prestigious Popcorn new writing award. Her writing has recently been long-listed for the Bruntwood award and the Female Comedy Pilots Club and she has written for the NewsRevue London and Edinburgh shows. Whether you’re planning a sitcom or simply want to find your comedy voice\, she’ll be tapping into her experience to help you elevate your comedy writing to the next level. \nDaily workshops are held on Zoom\, from 12.00pm to 1.00pm Monday to Thursday and recorded should you miss a day. All times\, UK times! \n\n\n\nCulminating in a live online showcase on Friday\, where you’ll perform or present your pitch and receive invaluable feedback from facilitators and peers. This is split into two parts with an hour interval 11.30am to 12.30pm & 1.00pm to 2.00pm.
