Funny Women was founded by Lynne Parker in 2002 to help women find their voice through performing, writing and using humour in business and everyday life.

The Funny Women Awards were launched in 2003, and we’ve seen some fantastic acts pass through our doors who are now major names on the comedy circuit including Bridget Christie, Katherine Ryan, Andi Osho and Sarah Millican.

We run comedy workshops, weekend events and conferences in London, Manchester, Brighton and Edinburgh on stand up, comedy writing, improvisation, sketch and character, and ‘Time of the Month’ a scratch night to try out new comedy ideas.

See below to check out the full range of who we are and what we do.

Meet the fabulous team of producers, writers, associates, and volunteers who make the magic happen.

Founder, Lynne Parker tells the story of Funny Women and her hopes for female-led UK comedy.

We’re supported by an incredible advisory board of talented businesswomen, journalists and producers, who help Funny Women every step of the way.

With our new Patreon launch, we’d like to recognise our amazing Funny Friends who’ve helped us get to where we are now.
