Since 2022, Fem de la Femme has been hosting monthly comedy and spoken word nights in Liverpool and is a recipient of the BBC Comedy Grants to launch its own all-female comedy festival running Thursday 22 May to Saturday 24 May 2025.
Hosted at the Everyman Playhouse, Fem de la Festival is bringing three whole nights of comedy with an all-female line up featuring some of the circuit’s most loved performer plus an open mic on the closing night. Already booked to perform at the festival are Samantha Day, Josephine Lacey, Maxine Wade, Allyson June Smith, Lorraine Hoodless and Katie Gill-Williams.
Running from Thursday 22 May to Saturday 24 May, there will also be a marketplace with stalls from female-led businesses, Find Your Funny comedy workshops for new and established performers to take part in plus a Q&A session for those trying to break in or navigate the comedy industry.
Funded by the BBC Comedy Grant, Fem de la Festival is also crowdfunding on IndieGogo to hire British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters for all the performances and to help with marketing and administration costs.
