It is with absolute joy and pride, I embark on the role of producer for Funny Women Live in Brighton.
The Funny Women shows at Komedia have always been extremely important and successful. In fact this is Funny Women’s longest standing relationship with a venue when it hosted a heat of the very first Awards in 2003. The audiences are loyal, encouraging and sometimes wild!
As a performer you get a real sense of belonging to a brilliant and supportive community of people. The standard of talent showcased is always top notch and I feel honoured to be on the team.
A bit about me, I have a background in acting and event management and after a brief foray into the world of cabaret and burlesque, I started performing stand-up on the open mic scene in Brighton in 2017. I’m now lucky enough to call myself a pro comic, performing all over the UK.
In 2019, I was a finalist of So You Think You’re Funny and runner up in the South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2021. I’ve had two sell-out Brighton Fringe shows, 8 States of Kate and Kate Expectations receiving great reviews and I plan to debut in Edinburgh next year.
As a producer and promoter, I had a couple of monthly comedy nights, a cabaret show and a popular quiz night in London. I’m currently producing a monthly pro comedy night in Tunbridge Wells and Forest Row.
In my personal life, I’m a new Mum to a gorgeous baby boy, Bodhi, with my husband and fellow comedian Rich Wilson. We have just started a new podcast Nevermind the Age Gap, where we overshare about our relationship and busy life with a newborn!
I’m so excited to be starting work on Funny Women Live in Brighton and to curate the same high quality shows, while nurturing new and exciting talent. My first night at the helm will be Saturday 27th April but I will be on hand for the last Brighton Nights show this coming Saturday 30th March. Come and say hi!
