In a dedicated effort to both raise funds and shine a spotlight on Refuge’s crucial work supporting women facing domestic violence, I am producing an exciting comedy night, ‘Women Are(n’t) Funny’, which is set to light up the Camden Beer Hall on Tuesday, 5th March.
This features a stellar all-female line up of comedic brilliance, including Shazia Mirza (pictured above), Tiff Stevenson, Harriet Kemsley, Esther Manito, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Fiona Ridgewell and hosted by MC Leslie Gold, ensuring a diverse range of comedic styles to keep the audience in stitches.
What makes this night truly special to me is its dedication to supporting the charity Refuge, a champion organisation committed to creating a world free from domestic abuse and violence against women and girls. By attending an evening of uproarious laughter you will be contributing to a cause that secures safe havens for women and children in need, directly supporting Refuge’s vital work.
Driven by a personal experience with domestic violence during my teenage years, this comedy night is part of my broader initiative. In April, I’ll be lacing up for the London Marathon as a proud member of Team Refuge, aiming to amplify awareness and support for those navigating situations similar to what I once faced. So please join me in this dual celebration of laughter and resilience!
Limited tickets are available to the comedy night so time is of the essence. To book and for more details about the event, please visit JokePit.
Thank you!
