The registration period for the Stage Award, Comedy Writing Award, and Comedy Shorts Award has come to a close for 2023, and we couldn’t be happier with the overwhelming response we’ve received! We’ve received an incredible number of entries across these three disciplines, spanning an impressive 23 countries. It’s a true testament to our 20th Anniversary Year, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Given the fantastic turnout, we’ve taken a closer look at our dates and timelines to ensure fairness for everyone participating in these three categories. Let’s just say we have our work cut out for us! With hundreds of entries to review, each 5-page script taking about 8-10 minutes to read properly, the Shorts around 5mins to view and over 450 Stage Award videos to watch at least twice, we estimate we’ll be laughing for a total of approximately 114 hours!
But fear not, because we’re committed to making this a fair and enjoyable experience for all. We understand the importance of giving every entry the attention it deserves. So, rest assured, we’ve established a well-thought-out timeline to ensure each joke, sketch, and performance is given its due appreciation.
We’re truly amazed by the overwhelming response. Thank you to all the participants who have shared their potential comedic genius with us. Now, we will dive into the judging process with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to celebrate the funniest minds across the globe!

Nothing polarises this more than the fast-track comedy career of Serena Terry best known to her 3.5 million social media followers as ‘Mammy Banter’.
