Award-winning comedian Heidi Regan makes a welcome return to the Fringe with her show Heidi Regan Gives Birth Live on Stage Every Night or Your Money Back. Using the medium of PowerPoint Heidi takes her audience through her relationship with her girlfriend Kat and their quest for a baby.

Due to being a same-sex couple and the nature of baby creation, a lot of planning goes into babies for Heidi and Kat. To the point that quite early on in their relationship they had ‘the baby talk’ and realised they would need to get ready for when they were ready to have a baby. If that doesn’t make sense, please go to the show and refer to Heidi’s helpful timeline graphic.

If the couple wasn’t thwarted enough by the NHS’s various rules and procedures, right at the beginning of their journey we were all hit by the pandemic. This meant that no matter how pre-pre-prepared they were, Heidi and Kat were sent right back to square one, if not even further back from that. However, Heidi is so optimistic, her writing and delivery of this story means you aren’t struck with the tragedy of the situation. In fact Heidi might be the only person who can talk about the terrible impact COVID-19 had on her life and only make you think: ‘Oops!’

To say HRGBLOSOYMB is heartwarming is an understatement. Ultimately the show takes the form of a love letter (with PowerPoint) to her very indulgent partner Kat and their future baby. This is a show full of hope which I think we could all do with right now.

Rest assured, you will not want your money back. Not just because… this is a free show.
