BBC Radio 4 has commissioned stand-up specials from Josie Long and Jen Brister, the broadcaster has also announced a showcase of disabled comedy acts.
Long’s show, What’s Next? is adapted from her tour show Tender. In it, Long sets out an inspirational comic road map for a post crisis society to answer the biggest question facing us, what next? It will be recorded on 22nd May at The Stand in Glasgow. Brister will record her show, Waves, documenting parenting young twins in lockdown, in Brighton on 23rd May.
The Thirteen Million Club will showcase disabled comedy acts and be hosted by Briony May Williams at Backyard Comedy Club in London.
Impatient Productions will produce all three shows, comedian Mark Watson, who runs the company with producer Lianne Coop said: “This triple commission is a new high in Impatient’s content-providing CV and we would love you to be there”.
