We Are Lady Parts wins Best Comedy at TV Awards

The Channel 4 show We Are Lady Parts, about an all-woman, all-Muslim punk band, was named best comedy at the Edinburgh TV festival awards yesterday. The jury said the show “dared to be original” and was “packed full of female characters that were just good characters with their own humour and their own identities.”

The Awards were presented by Kae Kurd and took place virtually. Queer Eye’s Tan France Zoomed in to announce the winners of the best comedy award. France said the creators and actors in the show were “wildly funny, wildly talented.” adding that the award was “so deserved.”
