Mae Martin’s Channel 4 show Feel Good, starring the comedian and actor Charlotte Ritchie was named best comedy series at the Edinburgh TV Awards. Mae tweeted: “Wowowow! Thank you so much @EdinburghTVFest and thank you to @ObjectiveMediaG and a million others. @Charitchie Joe Hampson”
Feel Good charts Mae’s character’s experiences as she balances attending Narcotics Anonymouse with a new relationship withthe repressed, middle-class George, played by Charlotte Ritchie. The judging panel said of the semi-autobiographical show that: “The writing is very strong, it’s funny but also respected and respectful.”
The impressive cast also features Lisa Kudrow, Sophie Thompson and Phil Burgers.
Stewart Clarke, the Edinburgh TV Festival’s creative director said: “In a very challenging year it has been great to take a moment to celebrate amazing work and the amazing people in our industry.
“It is testament to the tenacity and innovation of producers, channels, streamers, freelancers and a host of others, that there was such a formidable list of nominees and brilliant group of winners.”
