2020 Comedy Writing Longlist Announced!

This year we received a record number of scripts for the 2020 Funny Women Comedy Writing Award and an impressive number covered the subject of lockdown, so plenty of themes were certainly up to the minute! With the help of our fantastic panel of readers from the comedy industry we have now read and scored over 200 scripts and narrowed them down to a longlist of 21.

The standard was high as ever this year and whittling the list down to 21 was extremely hard. I think the panel has selected an incredible range of scripts that cover all kinds of comedy and I’m excited to move forward to the next stage, the shortlist!
