The Funny Women Comedy Shorts Team have worked over the last month to bring the list of videos down to 25 videos of an exceptionally high standard. The longlist represents a variety of eclectic genres and include a number of videos made during the UK lockdown. Faced with the ongoing challenge of creating, producing and directing video shorts for the majority of 2020, it was truly heartening to see how many of our entrants had overcome those difficulties and been able to produce such brilliantly original videos.

And we are so pleased to now announce that our Head Judge for the 2020 Comedy Shorts Award is Andi Osho!

Andi is an award-winning actor, writer and stand-up comedian, having won the Funny Women Stage Award in 2007, Andi has starred in Live at the Apollo, performed sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival and appeared at the O2 Arena in London. Alongside all this, Andi is also a talented actor and has starred in Sky Atlantic’s Curfew and featured in Holby City, EastEnders and Death In Paradise, amongst many other credits.
Andi told us: “I’m delighted to be head judge for the comedy shorts competition. I’m particularly passionate about film and storytelling so can’t wait to see what all these fabulous, funny filmmakers come up with. I switched career from an office job to performer relatively late in life and I’m here to say, it’s never too late to give performing, writing, film making or any creative endeavour a try.”
Each of the longlisted videos will be viewed by an independent panel of judges, headed by Andi, and including a raft of industry professionals from the comedy world.
The shortlist will be released on 31st July 2020.
