Aisling Bea is set to star in a brand new crime-thriller which is being described as “Fargo in England.” Also starring Nick Frost, Sweet Dreams is about a run of unfortunate coincidences that result in some over-ambitious criminals meeting a sticky end.
Writer Carl Tibbers told Deadline: “Sweet Dreams is Pulp Fiction in Martin Parr’s England. An action-packed pitch-black ensemble crime-thriller. Think No Country For Old Men, Fargo in England, and In Bruges and Shallow Grave. Funny, dark, violent and heartwarming; it has it all.”
The Virtues Niamh Algar plays a police chief while the cast also includes Paapa Essiedu from Gangs Of London and I May Destroy You.
It will be written and directed by Carl Tibbets, who has previously shot episodes of Black Mirror and Humans.
Stigma Films will be presenting Sweet Dreams at the Cannes virtual market, which starts later this month.
