This year the Funny Women Awards are fully embracing online comedy and we are happy to announce we’re partnering with ‘digital comedy club’ NextUp. Those who register to enter the 2020 Funny Women Awards will receive the offer of a six months NextUp subscription absolutely free!
Sarah Henley, NextUp co-founder says: “We are really chuffed to be partnering with Funny Women on their 2020 Awards. We’re big fans of their dedication to supporting female comedians, something which we are always striving to do at NextUp. We’re also proud to have so many previous finalists and winners on the platform, including Lauren Pattison, Sarah Callaghan and Rachel Parris. For this year’s Awards we are offering six months free NextUp membership for anybody registering to enter the Awards. It’s a tough time for at the moment and we need our laughs now more than ever!”
Lynne Parker, Funny Women founder and chief executive says: “We are delighted to be partnering with NextUp for this year’s Funny Women Awards. We plan to enhance the whole virtual experience of entering and will be developing some prizes and packages to complement and celebrate our partnership. Watch this space!”
NextUp was founded by comedy lovers who wanted to support comedians by bringing them an additional revenue stream from their brilliant shows and to serve fans by making sure they didn’t miss out on shows they couldn’t see live. The service was launched three years ago and now has over 200 full-length shows available across multiple devices including iOs, Android, Firestick, Amazon Channels, Roku and web browser.
They have just launched NextUp Now, a virtual comedy venue to support comedians during the Coronavirus pandemic. NextUp can be streamed live from Facebook, Youtube and Twitch where you can chat directly with your favourite comedians, eat breakfast with them, and watch shows they’d otherwise be previewing for Edinburgh.
