Samantha Baines: 1 Woman, A High Flyer and a Flat Bottom

Following on from last year’s Edinburgh Fringe sold out run, 1 Woman, a Dwarf Planet and 2 Cox, Samantha Baines is still into science. However, this year in order to balance out her 2015 Cox [Brian] obsession she has focused on three women scientists who, like many women, have been consigned to the ‘lost’ pile of history.

A noble cause and a fascinating subject, in researching this show Samantha has clearly developed great affection for these women, which makes for sweet biographical rundowns. Though at no point does Samantha – reigning queen of the puns – forget this is a comedy show, not a lecture. In fact Samantha has even added a new string to her comedy bow and delivers the occasional poem from her new book.

As always, Samantha has a great rapport with the audience, a lot of love has gone into this show making it hugely enjoyable AND informative.
