Once again we’re on the hunt for the funniest women in the UK with the Funny Women Awards. We are proud to have had the likes of Katherine Ryan, Zoe Lyons, Bridget Christie, Sara Pascoe, Susan Calman, Andi Osho (too many to name!) come through our Awards and we can’t wait to see all the new comedy talent this year.

We are especially excited about this year’s Awards because we have made some changes, as our founder Lynne Parker explains: “This year’s awards are getting a refreshing makeover, with regional finals replacing semi-finals, and the winners going on to a prestigious final at KOKO in London. Each of the six Stage Award finalists will be mentored by an established comedian, with Sara Pascoe and Ellie Taylor among them.”

Another change we’re making is adding a new category, the Best Show Award. We want to reward (or should that be award?) the amazing contribution women make to live comedy. We will also have our Stage, Comedy Writing and Comedy Shorts Awards. We will, as always, be fundraising for Refuge Charity.
