This show demonstrates the importance of good production values is when it comes to sketch comedy. Slick, synchronised and well crafted, the three members of Massive Dad each have their defined roles within the troupe and their status fully established. This leaves the audience in no doubt that they are in for a fun filled, action-packed hour of comedy right from the get go.
Finalists in last year’s Funny Women Awards and returning to the Fringe for the second year running, Massive Dad pulls together a strong series of original comedy sketches combined with some multi-media, musical back tracks, running ‘gags’ and a cohesive narrative to ensure pace and interest.
There are quirky touches like the clever video graphics and some other surprises which I won’t reveal. In all a first class show with plenty of laughs. Expect to see them on telly soon – it’s time we reprised the benchmark set so high by Smack the Pony. Massive Dad may have done just this.
Massive Dad are at the Pleasance Dome until 31st August, 6.50pm. For more information click here!
