Have a Word, Abbie Murphy

Amused Moose Comedy Award nominee Abbie Murphy’s new show Have a Word introduces us to comedy character Essex girl Stephanie Vange. Stephanie is on her way somewhere, waiting for her mates to call back so they can meet up and start their holiday. While she waits she might as well talk to this audience…

Stephanie is a confident young woman, she might be 25 and way past the age she thought she’d be divorced from a football player or something, but she’s got plans. As her dad discovers when her future career is dropped off at home while Stephanie chats to us.

Stephanie is so lovely and engaging and good at being a receptionist that she got promoted from behind the front desk to the basement. She’s perfected the selfie and is willing to share all her knowledge with you. For instance her opinions on racism and the rise of ‘fashism’ where people don’t care about your race but they do care about what you’re wearing.

This is a funny and warm show in which Abbie’s character Stephanie goes on a journey without even leaving the room.

Abbie Murphy’s Have a Word is at the Counting House 25th-30th August 1.20pm. For more information click here!
