This is our 15th year of running the Funny Women Awards and once again we’re on the road across the UK and Ireland to find the newest and best female comedy talent.
We have some incredible alumni including Zoe Lyons, Kerry Godliman, Bridget Christie, Susan Calman, Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Jayde Adams, Desiree Burch and last year’s winner, Harriet Braine, who is already making a name for herself.
Our much sought-after Stage Award focuses on a series of live heats where each act performs five minutes of comedy in front of an audience. You could follow in their footsteps by taking part or come along and support the next brilliant crop of female performers and watch them take their first steps towards comedy glory.
Nottingham born stand up comedian, writer and actor Emily Lloyd-Saini is the host of this London heat. Emily trained at the Oxford School of Drama, was a Funny Women Award finalist and best show nominee, a quarter finalist in the ‘BBC New Comedy Awards’ in 2011 and is a member of improv group ‘Battleacts’. battleacts.weebly.com She performed her debut hour of Stand Up at Edinburgh Fringe 2016 and is in the cast of Noel Edmonds whacky new game show ‘Cheap Cheap Cheap’ on Channel 4. facebook.com/emilylloydsainicomedy/
