DEBORAH LEARY OBE
Deb is founder and CEO of the award winning Forensic Pathways specialising in digital forensics, fraud and due diligence investigation. Deb is also an experienced consultant and speaker on entrepreneurship, CSR, global trade for many organisations and was awarded the OBE in the 2008 Queen’s Honours list. Deb was one of 10 amazing business women who performed stand-up at the Funny Women 10th Anniversary Comedy Challenge in 2012, raising over £35,000 for nominated charities.
Harriet Minter is a highly acclaimed journalist and broadcaster with a focus on women in leadership. She writes and speaks about women’s rights and the future of work, with columns in the Guardian and Psychologies magazine. She’s also the host of the Badass Women’s Hour on TalkRadio.
Karen’s breadth of experience as a comedy producer for the BBC has seen her work with some of the best artists in the industry: French and Saunders, Dara O’Brien, Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Mark Watson, Rhod Gilbert, Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and Micky Flanagan, to name but a very few.
Al Stary is a television production manager with 18 years of ‘hands-on’ experience. Al is a graduate of Funny Women’s Stand Up to Stand Out workshops, went on to perform stand up comedy and reached the semi-finals of the 2012 and 2013 Funny Women Awards.
MISA VON TUNZELMAN
Misa is the lead director for UK marketing and communications at commercial real estate specialists, JLL, responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the Marketing and Communications function. She is also a member of the EMEA regional Marketing Communications and Research leadership team and represents the region on JLL’s global Marketing leadership group. Misa has been listed by the FT as on of its top 100 LGBT Executives for 2016 for the second year running.
Jenny (B.A.Hons) trained as an actress and director. She is a skilled freelance workshop facilitator, and coaches individuals in presentation skills. She works with us here at Funny Women as one of our leading experts, providing training for our corporate clients including Investec, PWC, and JLL (London, Edinburgh, Norwich), and runs our comedy improvisation workshops.
Ali is an international business leader with a speciality in driving sales and marketing turnaround, transformation and accelerated profits growth. Her resolutely commercial and consumer focus has seen her solve challenging commercial issues at top-flight companies in highly competitive sectors, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Whitbread, Royal Mail and Hilton. Her current role is Chief Commercial Officer at Fitness First, one of the world’s leading health and fitness brands.
Tracey is a leading independent strategy consultant with over 30 years experience of providing expert advice and project leadership, management and support to a diverse range of strategic and business development projects, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector. Prior to working as an independent she held roles as Managing Director of a privately-owned Corporate Communications company, a General Manager (with BUPA, the NHS and Quaker Oats) and a Strategy Consultant (with The LEK Partnership and Arthur Andersen).
SUSANNAH SCHOFIELD OBE
Susannah owns the magazine title ‘Key Women in Business’ (KWIB.co.uk) and is the Editor-in-Chief with a readership of 120,000. KWIB is the only high-end glossy magazine providing insightful and aspirational business content for entrepreneurial and business orientated women living or working in the SE & London. Susannah also owns Dice Matrix Consulting, helping businesses develop and understand what customers and employees need through research and insight. This has been running successfully since she created the business model in 2013 as part of her published book, Mind the Gap – creating successful business strategy.
Hannah is a senior fundraiser at international children’s charity Plan International UK. She specialises in major philanthropic partnerships to ensure the world poorest children have access to education, healthcare, clean water, and their basic rights. Over the years she has worked for several national charities, including the NSPCC and Marie Curie. Hannah is also has a passion for languages and speaks fluent German, French and Italian.
