Sharon Horgan writes horror-comedy

Sharon Horgan is making the leap from comedy to horror, or horror-comedy, with Shining Vale, a series she has sold to American network Showtime.

The show tells the story of a dysfunctional family who moves to a small townhouse, which the mother finds to be possessed by an evil spirit. But she’s the only one who can sense it! The show touches on themes of ‘mental illness, small town politics, religion and a family battling their demons’.

Showtime has committed to a pilot episode and with Sharon’s recent winning streak – her recent creations Catastrophe, Motherland and Divorce have all been hits – we’re sure we will be seeing more of Shining Vale…
