PRICKLY PICK #1: Google, GE Reportedly Among Companies That May Soon Be Able To Operate In Cuba

With Fidel Castro’s death marks a new era of modernization for the formerly embargoed nation. Google and GE are some of the companies reportedly  entering the country to do business. I suppose this means that we can expect smokeless Cuban cigars right?

PRICKLY PICK #2 Dusk Is A New Mobile App That Lets Users Live Stream Anonymously…

Dusk, is a new mobile app which lets you live stream anonymously to its online community, while protecting your identity through pixelated video and voice changed audio. It’s the Anonymous Inc version of Periscope and Meerkat. Latest polls and reports also say that this is the way Americans and the world would like to view President-elect Donald Trump’s future press conferences. We hear terrorists are also into this app as well.

PRICKLY PICK #3 Kanye West Released From Hospital More Than A Week After He Was Admitted For Exhaustion

Rapper Kanye West was released from hospital on Wednesday, according to media outlets citing unidentified sources, more than a week after he was admitted for exhaustion. However, we wonder if what he was exhausted from? Criticising just about every singer that’s doing better than him on the charts? Hmm…

PRICKLY PICK #4 Comedienne Kathy Griffin Exposes MORE Sick Celebrity Secrets

Griffin tore through tons of celebs and famous former friends in her first memoir, Official Book Club Selection. Find out who’s a “douchebag,” and who bought fake boobs for fame! Griffin dated actor Jack Black in her early career, but he dumped her after a quick fling. “He lived in this filthy place, littered with video games and bongs,” she recalled. Kathy, we love you but you gotta stop picking up after trash. Ouch!

PRICKLY PICK #5 – Victoria’s Secret does Game of Thrones in latest show, time for a Big Mac version…

Winter has certainly come to Victoria’s Secret in the latest collection to give Jon Snow and members of the Night’s Watch a run for their feathered capes. Amid the usual technicolour fanfare of a typical star-studded Victoria’s Secret runway show, one aspect of the show bore a surprising resemblance to everyone’s favourite series, Game of Thrones. Now the designers at the famous lingerie company should start designing a Big Mac collection now that the inventor of the famous burger recently passed on.

PRICKLY PICK #6 – Teens recreate Martin Shkrel’s life saving drug

Martin Shkreli became more reviled than a Disney villain when he raised the price of anti-AIDS drug Daraprim from $13.50 to a whooping $750 per tablet. Still karma has a funny way of settling scores. Not only he was later jailed for security fraud, the millionaire got punked by a few Australian teenagers recently. The smartest 17-year olds in the world have recreated the active ingredient in the drug for a mere $20. Looks like the good ol’ baking soda and vinegar volcano science project just ain’t going to cut it anymore.

PRICKLY PICK #7- Donald Trump Makes Twitter Great Again

Twitter has always been the embattled underdog against Facebook, the heavyweight champ. But there’s one place where it is pulling its punches: serving as a loudspeaker for people with fully formed egos. The US President Elect Donald Trump has taken to Twitter like the dynamic duo of milk and cookies or spaghetti and meatballs. It appears he has more success with invigorating the struggling social media network than saving his own businesses from bankruptcy.

PRICKLY PICK #8 – Justin Bieber punches a fan in the face

Grateful fan appreciates Justin Bieber for delivering the ultimate knockout punch in Barcelona. “I can’t believe I was listening to such insipid music,” said the man who was left bloodied around the mouth.” Thank you for knocking some common sense into my head.”

PRICKLY PICK #9 – PewDiePie announces he is deleting his Youtube channel

Brace yourself – the biggest ever YouTube channel may soon be no more. That’s right, the  unbelievably popular YouTuber Felix Kjellberg swears in a recent video that he is going to delete his channel once it reaches 50 million subscribers. His fans aren’t sure whether he is trolling or if the threat is a clickbait. But if you can’t stomach his brand of comedy or don’t understand the million dollar appeal of watching people play video games, here’s your chance to hit the subscriber button now!

PRICKLY PICK #10 – Rory Gilmore Grows Up To Become A Typical Rom-Com Hollywood Journalist

Female journalists can’t seem to get a break in Hollywood. Often the journalism is the stand-in for “romantic workplace shenanigans”. In the recent Gilmore Girls revival, the protagonist Rory has absolutely no clue about how to prepare for a job interview, despite working as a journalist for a decade. To up the unbelievable stakes, the 32-year-old has zero qualms dozing off during an important assignment and sleeping with her source. Seriously?!? The executive producers seem to have forgotten their lead was once a young driven graduate who wanted to be the next Christiane Amanpour. Hey Hollywood, we can live complicated lives and yet be competent at our jobs – that’s what multi-tasking is for.  Stop shoving sexist tropes down our throats!
