We cheered when a remake of Ghostbusters with an all-female lead cast was announced. And when the same news broke for an Ocean’s Eleven reboot.

It’s one of several golden oldies making a comeback to celebrate some of the best, enduring BBC comedies. Strangely, this is to mark the 60th anniversary of the first Hancock’s Half Hour episode. We’re not getting that, but some other comedy shows instead. So we might also get to see revivals of The Good Life and Are You Being Served? soon.

A few lady visitors wouldn’t be too much of a stretch. (get it, stretch. Prison? Never mind.)
Keeping Up Appearances certainly wasn’t short of strong women – Hyacinth easily dominating them all. We’ve got the return of her relatives Daisy, Violet and Rose to look forward to. And, with any luck, there’ll be a pair of terrified neighbours for Hyacinth to annoy.
