The Funny Women semi-finals have all taken place and with the announcement of all the finalists coming, preparations for the Charity Final on Monday 24th September can begin!!

Yesterday Niamh Marron gained her place in the final after a spectacular semi-final! Regardless of Black Wednesday, the Bosco tent was filled to the rafters with an audience ready to watch brilliant new talent from the world of female comedy. Niamh brought energy and instant likability to her set which ultimately won the audience and judges over. The sassy edge of her stylish comedy translated perfectly to the crowd and represented what Funny Women stands for: strong, intelligent, funny women!

Runners up in the semi-final yesterday were Abi Tedder and Alice Frick. Abi captivated the audience straight away with her impeccable timing and quirky style of comedy. Alice, an Austrian native, gave a hilarious critique on Austrian stereotypes which included Arnold Schwarzenegger, ‘The Sound of Music’ and Adolf Hitler…

Funny Women at the Fringe still has two more shows to showcase to Edinburgh before lara A king begins the run of her show ‘People Pleaser’ and we are determined to make them the best yet!

Hosting today’s show will be the wonderfully slick Tiff Stevenson, whose show ‘Uncomfortably Numb’ has been receiving rave reviews this Fringe. Appearing in the Funny Women showcase today will be Spring Day, Aisling Bea and Anna Devitt. Headlining the show will be the brilliant Ellie Taylor!
